In other words, the origin of the clan school “Kojokan”, which produced talented human resources of each clan during the Meiji Restoration, was “Great Learning “, and the origin of “Kaisei school” was “I Ching”. “Kaisei School” produced human resources who contributed to the Edo Shogunate and the Meiji government through modern learning. Personalist education that values “modesty” was pulsing in “Kojokan”, and science and technology education based on the philosophy of “enlightenment and accomplishment” was pulsing in “Kaisei School” Uesugi Youzan, who founded the Yonezawa Domain Kojokan, invited Hosoi Heishu, who embodied scholarship, achievements, and deeds, from the Owari Domain to study. Sakatani Rōro, who became the director of the “Kojokan High School” which was established by volunteers from the Hitotsubashi family in Bichu Nishiehara, had a chance to get in touch with Eiichi Shibusawa. “Kaisei School” was a development of the Kaisei Sho, which was a research and education institution for Dutch studies and Western studies in the Shogunate, and it was inherited by the Meiji government. Among the tribute students, the talented ones went on to “Kaisei School” including Hatoyama Kazuo, Hozumi Nobushige, Sugiura Shigetake, Komura Jutaro, and Kabuto Kuninori.
